Looking ahead, I want to protect our senior citizens, meet our residents’ everyday needs, and expand critical services for our youth. I am City Treasurer and Rich Township Trustee Steven R. Burris, a proud resident of the City of Country Club Hills for more than 35 years. My lifelong commitment to public service began when I was just 14 years old, working to help elect my uncle, Roland Burris, the first Black statewide elected official in the great state of Illinois. That experience inspired a passion for service that has guided my work ever since — improving lives, strengthening communities, and building a better future for the next generation.

It has been an honor to serve as your City Treasurer and Rich Township Trustee, and I am proud of the progress we have achieved together. As your fiscal watchdog, I have always stood with Country Club Hills residents, workers, and families. I have fought to reduce wasteful spending, promote responsible government, and bring greater transparency and accountability to municipal decisions.

Looking ahead, my priorities are clear: protecting our senior citizens, addressing the everyday needs of our residents, and expanding critical services and opportunities for our youth. At a time when federal funding for many community programs is being reduced, we must create targeted initiatives that support our teens, keep them on the right path, and provide the resources they need to succeed.

Through my role as a Rich Township Trustee, I have worked alongside eight municipalities to help communities achieve their goals. I have helped ensure families have access to essential resources through our food pantry programs while expanding opportunities and support for seniors and youth in communities that need additional services. I will continue to be accessible and committed to serving residents throughout the Southland at the local, state, and federal levels.

As Mayor, I will always stand with working families to keep Country Club Hills safe, affordable, and thriving. I will work to build a city government that listens to residents, responds to their needs, and delivers results across all five Wards.

I understand the challenges facing our community, but I also know the strength and potential we have when we come together. With your support, we can continue moving Country Club Hills forward and create a brighter future for everyone.
