SAFE COMMUNITIES FOR ALL

Keeping everyone who lives, works, or visits Country Club Hills safe is non-negotiable. Safe communities keep families here, help children thrive, create opportunities, and improve the quality of life for everyone. We must respond to crime by holding offenders
accountable, while simultaneously investing in proven prevention and intervention strategies that disrupt cycles of violence. We must step in early with high-risk individuals before a crisis occurs.
As Mayor, I will deploy our resources strategically to further drive down crime, restore community trust, improve agency performance, and prevent violence before it happens.
To make Country Club Hills safer, I will:

  • Strengthen and expand resources for detectives to aid in solving more crimes and clearing cases.
  • Expand access to critical support services to help victims of violent crimes and survivors heal.
  • Ensure special education, multilingual, and school-based mental health services are fully resourced to address the immediate needs of students and families.
  • Expand after-school programs citywide and invest in more safe spaces and positive activities for teenagers.
  • Provide year-round youth employment opportunities, including expanded training and workforce programs that set young people up for long-term career success.
  • Empower crisis responders and behavioral health professionals to handle non- violent emergencies, reducing police workloads and ensuring residents in crisis receive the right care.
  • Re-engage disconnected young people through targeted education, workforce development, and stable job opportunities.
  • Create community hubs that provide direct, localized access to government services across all five Wards.
  • Improve interagency collaboration to remove administrative silos and make city government run more efficiently.
  • Make our streets and intersections safer for everyone by upgrading traffic safety infrastructure and holding repeat dangerous drivers accountable.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

Country Club Hills should be a city of choice a place where residents can build a career, raise a family, and truly become a part of the community. Our city must work for the people who live here, in addition to the people who commute here for work and their employers. As Mayor, I will invest in realizing this new vision for our city.
To drive economic development and enhance our community, I will:

  • Reimagine a thriving downtown by strategically utilizing TIF dollars to revitalize the area.
  • Attract true economic development that directly reflects the needs and desires of our residents.
  • Establish revenue-sharing partnerships between neighboring cities so that we all profit from regional developments throughout the Southland.
  • Build a new, modern police station that provides our officers with the high-quality facility they deserve.
  • Enhance the community resource center to maximize its practical use, offering expanded services for both our senior community and youth programming.
  • Bring in a golf simulator facility and a new, stand-alone recreation center to generate municipal revenue for years to come.
  • Redevelop the vast open space along the 167th Street corridor, bringing in new restaurants, medical/dental offices, and industrial operations that bring stable jobs to our city.
  • Transform the Country Club Hills Theater into a profitable venue, ensuring it generates revenue rather than draining local property taxes.
  • Revitalize our baseball fields, football stadium, and community parks, turning these recreational spaces into true city assets rather than financial liabilities.

SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES

Small businesses power the economic growth of Country Club Hills. They create jobs, enliven neighborhoods, reflect the unique character of our community, and keep opportunities rooted locally. My vision for Country Club Hills is a city whereb businesses don't just open but stay open. While starting a business should be straightforward and operating one predictable, too often entrepreneurs struggle to navigate the bureaucracy to open, and once open, face hurdles to remain profitable.Our city government must be a reliable partner. We must provide clear guidelines,
tailored support, and proven tools that help entrepreneurs launch quickly, navigate challenges, and grow sustainably. As Mayor, I will cut the red tape that restricts business growth and actively partner with our small business community to create an
environment where local enterprises can thrive as pillars of their neighborhoods.
To support our small businesses, I will:

  • Streamline compliance assistance and technical support by dedicating city staff to help business owners navigate regulatory requirements. This includes securing enhanced funding for the Heritage Plaza and 167th Street corridors and partnering with community-based organizations to provide direct technical assistance.
  • Launch a centralized digital portal to serve as a one-stop shop for business licensing, reporting, permitting, and other regulatory filings.
  • Accelerate approval timelines and simplify the standard procedures required to start and operate a small business in the city.
  • Ensure local preference policies for Certified Business Enterprises strictly benefit truly locally owned and operated companies.
  • Launch a robust "Buy Local" campaign to promote the importance of supporting local companies, keeping our community's dollars and jobs right here in Country Club Hills.
  • Provide free temporary or permanent spaces for pop-ups, business incubators, and startups within city-owned properties and vacant commercial spaces.
  • Support our existing restaurants and eateries while actively facilitating the arrival of new dining options.
  • Leverage the city's purchasing power to contract with local vendors for municipal needs such as catering, maintenance, and printing services.
  • Invest in community concerts, student art exhibits, and cultural festivals in public parks and schoolyards through targeted grants and city partnerships.
  • Champion local fairs, markets, and neighborhood events that drive foot traffic and promote localized business activity.

EXCELLENT SCHOOLS FOR ALL

As an educator, I believe every student deserves access to excellent neighborhood public schools, robust support inside and outside the classroom, and real pathways to opportunity. My education platform focuses on implementing and expanding the proven strategies that help our students succeed. As Mayor, I will work hand-in-hand with students, parents, educators,schools, and community organizations to solve problems together, strengthen schools in every neighborhood, improve out-of-school programming, support teachers, and ensure families see real results in their daily lives.
To deliver excellent schools for all, I will:

  • Partner with educators, parents, and students to build excellent, fully resourced, academically comprehensive, and culturally rich schools in every neighborhood.
  • Ensure all students achieve literacy and have access to a well-rounded school experience, including world languages, music, the arts, regular field trips, outdoor green spaces, and hands-on experiential learning.
  • Accelerate the maintenance of public-school buildings through cost-efficient, timely repairs and construction prioritizing safety and accessibility upgrades like secure locks, functional doors, reliable HVAC systems, and working elevators.
  • Protect our schools as safe, secure, and welcoming spaces for learning.
  • Expand after-school and summer programming citywide, transitioning from basic summer care into robust, year-round enrichment.
  • Create caregiver navigation support networks to help families seamlessly coordinate educational, health, and human services for their children.
  • Expand career and technical education (CTE) opportunities, targeting these vital programs to the students who need them most.
  • Build a single, centralized digital portal for college and career pathways, introducing structured career exploration to students starting in middle school and continuing through high school.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local employers, labor unions, and higher education institutions to expand student access to internships, apprenticeships, and advanced degrees.
  • Partner with local colleges and universities to build strong, localized educator recruitment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers' unions to create and sustain good, safe jobs that attract and retain excellent educators in our community.

TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN GOVERNMENT

City government should answer the people it serves. For too long, the decisions impacting Country Club Hills families have been made behind closed doors, leaving residents in the dark about how their tax dollars are spent and how municipal contracts
are awarded. As your City Treasurer, I have consistently fought to shine a light on our city’s finances. As Mayor, I will build a government that is fully transparent, deeply accountable, and accessible to everyone in all five Wards.
To restore public trust and ensure open government, I will:

  • Launch an online municipal data dashboard providing residents with real- time, user-friendly access to city budgets, vendor contracts, expenditures, and monthly financial audits.
  • Broadcast and archive all city council and committee meetings with high- quality streaming and clear audio, ensuring residents can stay informed and engaged from home.
  • Implement a strict open-door policy with regularly scheduled town halls and open office hours across every Ward, allowing residents to ask questions and voice concerns directly to leadership.
  • Overhaul and streamline the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) process to ensure that public records requests are processed quickly, accurately, and without administrative delays.
  • Establish an independent municipal ethics commission to oversee city hiring, promotions, and the competitive bidding process for all public contracts guaranteeing fairness and preventing conflicts of interest.
  • Create a transparent, public tracking system for infrastructure projects, allowing residents to view the timeline, cost, and progress of street repairs, facilities construction, and park upgrades.
  • Incorporate participatory budgeting initiatives, giving residents a direct voice in deciding how a portion of community development funds are allocated within their neighborhoods.

MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC WORKS

Safe streets, reliable utilities, and well-maintained public facilities are the foundation of a thriving city. For too long, routine maintenance in Country Club Hills has been deferred, leading to crumbling roadways, outdated infrastructure, and neighborhood parks that require urgent attention. As Mayor, I will implement a proactive, long-term infrastructure plan that prioritizes equitable upgrades across all five Wards, improves traffic safety, and ensures our public spaces are assets we can all be proud of.
To modernize our city's infrastructure and public works, I will:

  • Launch an aggressive, ward-by-ward street resurfacing initiative to repair pothole- ridden roads and replace deteriorating sidewalks, ensuring smooth and accessible neighborhood transit.
  • Upgrade critical traffic safety infrastructure, including installing modern LED street lighting, clear crosswalk markings, and targeted traffic-calming measures near schools, parks, and residential zones.
  • Overhaul and modernize our city's stormwater management and drainage systems to mitigate localized flooding risks and protect residents' properties during severe weather events.
  • Establish a transparent, data-driven "Public Works Tracker&quot allowing residents to submit service requests (like pothole repairs, broken streetlights, or tree trimming) online and monitor their completion in real time.
  • Transition of the city’s vehicle fleet including municipal and public works vehicles—to energy-efficient alternatives over time to reduce long-term fueling and maintenance costs.
  • Beautify our public gateways, medians, and shared green spaces through regular landscaping, litter removal partnerships, and community-led planting programs to increase civic pride and curb appeal.
  • Secure federal and state infrastructure grants to offset the cost of large-scale capital improvements, protecting local property owners from bearing the entire financial burden.

INVESTING IN OUR SENIORS AND YOUTH

A strong community supports its residents at every stage of life. In Country Club Hills, our senior citizens deserve the resources to age in place with dignity, while our young people need safe spaces, mentorship, and constructive outlets to thrive. For too long,
critical programming has been underfunded or fragmented. As Mayor, I will bridge the generational gap by expanding targeted services, modernizing our community centers, and building a supportive network that ensures no senior is isolated and no youth is left behind.
To improve our seniors and expand opportunities for our youth, I will:

  • Transform the Community Resource Center into a vibrant, multi-generational hub with dedicated wings and specialized daily scheduling for both senior activities and youth development programs.
  • Establish a Senior Caregiver and Resource Navigation Network to help older adults and their families easily access healthcare, property tax exemptions, utility assistance, and free municipal maintenance services.
  • Launch a Year-Round Youth Employment and Trade Initiative, partnering with local businesses and labor unions to offer teenagers paid internships, job training, and direct pathways to post-secondary careers.
  • Expand Citywide After-School and Summer Enrichment Programs, moving beyond basic seasonal care to offer continuous academic support, sports leagues, and creative arts instruction.
  • Introduce a Mobile Senior Outreach Program to deliver wellness checks, tech- assistance workshops, and recreational activities directly to seniors living in independent complexes or isolated areas.
  • Create a Youth Advisory Council to give high school and middle school students a formal voice in city government, allowing them to directly advise leadership on park designs, teen programming, and community events.
  • Develop Intergenerational Mentorship Programs that connect our seniors' rich life experiences and skills with young people who need guidance, fostering a deeper sense of community across generations.
